Buenos nachos pals! Friday is back. Yee haw! Yesterday was in the 60's here and today, it's going to be mid-80's. Weather is a crazy thing.

Is basketball over yet? I'm sick of the NBA (like always)

I've been working with Charleigh on brushing her teeth. I try to do it for her, but she insists on doing it herself. I snapped this picture earlier this week of her brushing her... lips. Ha! It's a work in progress : )

And last, but certainly not least, Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas, the mamas-to-be, all those who are just like mothers, and those of you who may be struggling trying to become a mama.

I'd like to give a BIG shout out to the one and only Momma D. There really is no other person like her and I am incredibly lucky/proud to call her my mom. I'd also like to give a shout out to my godmother who is basically a second mom to me. Hi Rudi! Thanks for being you. Shout to my mother-in-law Amy! And the last few shout outs go to my favorite girls Ali and Kristy! Ali is celebrating her 2nd Mother's Day like me, and Kristy is celebrating her very 1st Mother's Day. She is 11 weeks pregnant : )

I have to thank my daughter Charleigh for making me a mom. It still blows my mind that I can say I'm a mother.

Happy Thursday folks. Friday is starting to creep back in! Yay!

Have you ever noticed that when you call a business with a pre-recorded message, it always says something like, "Please listen carefully as the menu options have recently changed." Have they ever not recently changed? Why is every recording like this?

I'm having my first little dinner party this Saturday evening. My old boss/mentor and his wife are coming, along with an old coworker and her husband. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this and I'm looking forward to it. I've planned the menu, now I just need to clean and cook! Should be fun.

You know your an adult when... you have dinner parties.

Sunday is Mother's Day! My second one ever! I shall celebrate by playing the first round of playoffs in my football league! We have made it to the playoffs every year that I have played with this team, but always feel short of the championship. Could this be our year? Fingers crossed!

Hi there.

Hi there! Happy Tuesday to ya. Monday was a pain this week. We had a great weekend with our friends and felt like we were on a vacation. We didn't do a whole lot, but we did play some great hands of Spades (were the girls completely crushed the boys) and ate lots of good food. Charleigh soaked up time with her Uncle Elliott and Aunt Kristy!There are people that come into your life that feel like family from the start and those two always have.

Speaking of Miss C, here she is with her lastest obsession, The Muppets movie. Totally in her own zone. Her hair is getting so much longer. We will have to pin it back when it starts to get in her eyes (like the picture above) She is also into gymnastics class. She goes once a week on Saturday afternoons. Check out her sweet leotard that her grandma got her. Ha! 

Adorable. She is just the most fun right now. She might be starting to get a bit bossy. We are working on teaching manners and not letting her get her way all of the time. This parent thing is tougher than it looks! Someone should have told me ; )

This shocking Cleveland story has chilled me. I can't get over what these three women have gone through. It terrifies me that people like these three brothers exist in our society. I know there is so much good in this world and that that is what we should focus on, but stories like this do shake our foundation. What a hero Amanda Berry is. I hope with all my heart that these three amazing women and the child can make a full recovery. I can't fathom how something like this can happen.

Hey there

Hola pals! We've been busy fixing up the house. We've almost got the master bedroom and guest room completely done. As a matter of fact, I'd say that after tonight they will be complete! I put some finishing touches on Charleigh's room and it came out great. I'll get some pictures of the rooms with my real camera asap, but here is a little sneak peek from my cell phone. It's bright, cheerful, and happy. Perfect for a little girl.

Tomorrow is our Friday! Greg and I have taken Friday off from work which we never do unless we are out of town. This Friday we aren't going out of town though! Our friends Kristy and Elliott are coming in from Cincinnati on Thursday night! We all met in college and basically lived together for a few years.  

They are going to stay with us until Monday! It's going to be a blast to be reunited. Kristy also just so happens to be 10 weeks pregnant! We are going to play a lot of cards, grill out, go to the zoo, and soak up our time together!

Can't wait! Living far from family and friends can be challenging at times, but it makes us appreciate weekends like this so much more!
