Happy Father's Days to the good ones, especially you Greg McNamara. I don't think you ever (in a million years) pictured yourself as the father to a pint-sized little girl. "Us McNamara's make boys!" Ha! But I must say, you completely rock at Ring Around the Rosie, tea parties, and playing baby dolls. Charleigh is so very lucky to have you, as am I.

Dewey Beach!

Hola amigos and amigas! Happy Friday! We are going to the beach tomorrow. Another perk of Baltimore, besides that it is just awesome in general, is that we are close to the ocean!

It's less than 3 hours away. So we get up early Saturday morning and get to the beach before 10am. We have a hotel room for tomorrow night and will come back Sunday afternoon! This will be our 2nd annual trip to celebrate Greg's birthday.

I had actually surprised Greg with 2 nights away and we were supposed to be leaving at noon today, but work got in the way of that master plan. Boo.

This was Charleigh last year on the same weekend! Look at that little peanut. It will be interesting to see her reaction this year. There will be many pictures to come, plus stay tuned this weekend for her 15th and 16th month updates (finally!) I've had them written for some time and the pictures taken, just didn't have them uploaded. Slacking on the job!

I Wasted $4!

It's the Friday finish line y'all! Amen. I bought two Powerball tickets on my way to work today. $4 down the drain, but there is always that glimmer of hope. It's at $550 million and clilmbing. If you see me on the news next week for winning millions of dollars, no, you cannot have a loan. Paws off the cash!

So Greg had been using my phone this morning while I was at the gym. I later go to get on the internet on the phone and what pops up? The "Top Gifts for Your Husband - Gifts.com... your adoring husband who has stuck around through the good times and the bad... blah, blah, blah" LOL. He's a clever one, that boy.

Shout to Christine today for being an awesome reader and for sending me the nicest message yesterday. When my original blog was removed by Google, (for whatever reason) I was pretty devastated. Honestly, I still am. A lot of tears were shed (just ask Greg ; ) When I started this new blog, I wasn't sure how many folks would come over from Sunshinemeg. I assume it's mostly family and friends reading now, which is awesome. I love my peeps! Just wanted to say thanks for reading to you all and Christine, thanks for your kind words. Happy Day, Moms!

Buenos nachos pals! Friday is back. Yee haw! Yesterday was in the 60's here and today, it's going to be mid-80's. Weather is a crazy thing.

Is basketball over yet? I'm sick of the NBA (like always)

I've been working with Charleigh on brushing her teeth. I try to do it for her, but she insists on doing it herself. I snapped this picture earlier this week of her brushing her... lips. Ha! It's a work in progress : )

And last, but certainly not least, Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas, the mamas-to-be, all those who are just like mothers, and those of you who may be struggling trying to become a mama.

I'd like to give a BIG shout out to the one and only Momma D. There really is no other person like her and I am incredibly lucky/proud to call her my mom. I'd also like to give a shout out to my godmother who is basically a second mom to me. Hi Rudi! Thanks for being you. Shout to my mother-in-law Amy! And the last few shout outs go to my favorite girls Ali and Kristy! Ali is celebrating her 2nd Mother's Day like me, and Kristy is celebrating her very 1st Mother's Day. She is 11 weeks pregnant : )

I have to thank my daughter Charleigh for making me a mom. It still blows my mind that I can say I'm a mother.

Advocare 24-Day Challenge! The day 24 finish line! (Results picture)

Good morning readers! Happy Friday. YAY! If you read yesterday then you already know that it's the end of the challenge. Today is the grand finale. I feel great. I feel like this was a very good thing for me. Through these past 24 days I was reminded that I have to take care of myself first in order to take care of my family. It's okay to make myself a priority from time to time. I think it can be easy for parents to forget that.

As promised, here are my results. Everyone is diffent and if you do this challenge yourself, your results may vary. Duh. Also, if you do the challenge I found this great website with tips that may help.

Day 1.

Day 3.

 Day 17. Down 8 pounds. Lost 3 inches from waist.

Day 24. Down 10.5 pounds. Wowza! I have lost 4.5 inches from my waist alone. I swear it all came from my lower stomach. That is the area I needed the most help with and have focused a lot of gym activities on that the past 24 days. The Advocare website said that the average person on the challenge loses 10 pounds and 12 inches. I'm average!

 

So there you have it. Now I am off to have a great day at work and then spend my weekend soaking up time with the loves of my life.

Hola amigos and amigas. Happy Monday to ya! Let's make this week a good one. The weekend went too fast like it always does. Friday night we were glued to the TV while we hoped and waited for the Boston suspect to be caught. The police, fireman, FBI, special agents, CIA, and everyone involved are all incredibly brave and I am thankful to them that no one else was hurt. Saturday we went to our first O's game of the season. Charleigh lasted 5 innings! I didn't expect her to do that good since she normally goes to bed 6:30-7pm, but she showed me. Sunday I had a morning football game and then we did stuff around the house. 

 

Greg painted 2 walls in our bedroom a deep dark plum color. I will decorate the rest of the room in black and white everything. We are digging it!

Charleigh and I also had craft time on Sunday. I've been trying to find fun activites for her age range that aren't expensive. (She will be 15-months tomorrow!) I found a children's website that suggested painting with pudding because she is still in the oral stage and everything ends up in her mouth.

It was a brillant idea!

And no, I didn't eat any pudding ; ) I've been doing the Advocare 24-Day Challenge. Today is day 20! YES! I've almost made it. Friday will be my last day.

Paula Dean says happy weekend!

As Paula Dean would say, hey y'all! Happy Friday to ya! This picture has made my entire day. Thank you, Google. My godparents and mom are on their way here as we speak! They are only staying until Sunday, so it's time to fit as much in as possible. YES!

Today is day 11 out of 24 for my Advocare Challenge. I made it through the 10-day cleanse phase! I've never done anything like this before, but I have to say that I've been really happy with this challenge. I feel like I have more energy. I am not as tired as I normally am. That right there is amazing. Since having Charleigh 14 months ago, I constantly feel pooped, but not lately. I'm down 4.5 pounds as of this morning. 4.5 pounds in 10 days... score! Greg said he could tell a difference. I can't yet, besides the energy part. I have a before picture, a day 3 picture, a day 10 picture, and I will take one at the end and put them up side by side. You can be the judge in 13 more days.

Big news in our house today! After about 5 years without a couch, we are getting a couch delivered!!! Our apartment was too small for one so we had a love seat for all that time. Somewhere along the way the love seat got a broken spring, so when you sat on it, you would tilt towards the center of the love seat. Not to mention it was an awful floral print and had a crappy couch cover that collected every ounce of cat fur it could. Basically... it was a hot mess. BUT! That all changes today! Finally! We get a big, comfy, sectional sofa that I can't wait to have!

It's the little things!
