Living room before and after!

Moving day!
That was some serious orange paint.
Our old ugly love seat and that orange paint again.
Setting the dining room up.
Time to paint!
Adios orange. Rod and Greg hard at work.
Ta da! Still a work in progress, but this is the dining room now.
Charleigh even got her own kitchen off the dining room.
Here is part of the living room. The wall decal came from Amazon and the canvas pictures from a Living Social deal.

The kitchen didn't need much work, just a few touches of our own.

We survived the move!

Good morning. This won't be a long post, but I wanted to check in and say we survived the move!

We went from a tiny apartment to a cozy house. It's got 3 bedrooms and is 3 stories. It's strange... in a good way. It's strange to have stairs. It's strange to not share our living room with a pack-n-play and a sleeping Charleigh. It's strange to have a little yard with trees. It's strange to say, "I'm going down stairs." It's strange to not share a closet with my husband (hallelujah!) It's strange to have to go into the basement for something (I may or may not have had Greg go with me at night... it's scary down there yo! I've seen too many horror movies.)

It's all a great thing and we are incredibly lucky. It also takes a little getting used to. It doesn't feel like home yet, but once painting is done and our wall hangings and pictures are up, it will get there. Tupelo is a scaredy cat. She has made it out from underneath the bed and ventured down to the living room, but not to the basement yet. For now, her food and litter will stay in our room so she feels safe, and then we will move it all downstairs in time.

Downstairs. As in another level. Wow. Still getting used to that!

Greg and Rod worked on painting last night. The living room was this in-your-face-orange color. Now coming from Tennessee I happen to love in-your-face-orange, but not on my living room wall. Once things are settled I will share way too many pictures!

Also need to give a shout out today - happy birthday Dan! This is one of my favorite pictures of him and Greg. He was helping Greg get ready on our wedding day. It's just such a nice big brother thing to do. I'm glad the photographer captured this moment. Dan also inspired me to start blogging over 6 years ago! He blogged before blogging was cool.

Bring back Brew City Dan!

Moving madness.

March Madness is back today. Moving madness has also set it.

In college you move a lot. Each year you have new roommates and a new dorm, apartment, or home. You learn not to hold on to too much crap because otherwise you will have to move it. Ain't nobody got time for that! Moving stinks!

We haven't moved in 4 years. We got married, had a kid, bought some crap. It has... accumulated. I've been throwing out a ton of that stuff and donating what I can. Sometimes Greg creeps by and sees something he hasn't seen in 4 years and is like, "oh, we can't throw that out!" At first I tried to be understanding, but now that we are t-minus 2 days until the move, I wait for him to turn his head and POOF! It's gone.

If moving, I highly recomend the "POOF! It's gone" method.
The upside of moving is that
 a) you are on to bigger and better things. In this case, see the above picture? Just look at that cute little place! We get to call that our home in less than 48 hours. Talk about lucky!
b) Spring is tied to spring cleaning and is moving not the best way to clean?! You literally clean every inch of a new home and sort through all of your belongings. It's perfect!
c) Last, but certainly not least, two of my favorite people are coming this weekend. My little mom and Rod, her fiance, have graciously offered to make the 8 hour drive to help with all things moving related and care for Charleigh so we can get settled.
Also have to give a shout out to Greg's mom Amy and her husband Jon for their help as well. Did I mention how lucky we are?

Snow, Happy Birthday, And A Sneak Peek!

Good morning from snowy Baltimore! We woke up to find a heavy wet snow falling over the town. 4 inches has stuck around and caused a morning rush hour hassle. Baltimore County Schools closed. That's crazy considering it's almost April.
Didn't the groundhog predict early spring? Just saying...
Today is also a special day because it's my brother's birthday! Happy 31st birthday to you, butthead! See the picture below? That's us with our godparents kids, Benny and Katie. They are also like siblings to us.
Zach, I still feel this happy to have to sit next to you.

Moving day is Saturday! I think what I am most excited about, besides not having to always walk on top of 2 other people, is that Charleigh will have her own room. This will be her very first room. She's never had a nursery. She's never even had her own space. We have lived in a one-bedroom apartment her first year of life and we simple took our dining room table out of the living room/dining room and put in a pack and play. She never slept in our room, because we wanted to keep that our own space. Every night she goes to sleep and we are a mere 3-feet away from her on the couch watching TV in the living room. It's not ideal, but we have made it work.

*Before I get angry emails - we don't judge those of you who do co-sleep, it's just not for us! Save your angry emails for when I really piss you off. Thank you.
Anyways, here is a sneak peek of some things happening! I bought the words at the craft store and spray painted them. I bought that frame at the dollar store and put poster board in there and wrote the Shakespeare quote!  It's going to be a fun, inspiring room for a little girl! Yay!

Happy bracket day!

Hola friends. Glad you are here today. Happy bracket day! I've filled out 1 for work and 4 with friends/family members. I try not to pick the same everytime, but I have certain favorites. The work one is important for bragging rights and the winner gets $100! I picked Kansas to win it all. I have no idea why. Everyone is talking up Louisville. That's reason enough for me not to pick them.

We've got less than 3 hours until the madness begins! Wooo!

I woke up not 100% today. Got a wicked case of the chills and my muscles feel achy. Hoping it's nothing more that a quick case of the blahs!
Anywho, this will be our last weekend in our tiny little apartment. We move Easter weekend! Cardboard boxes and duct tape will be controlling our lives for the next week or so. Should be an adventure. We haven't moved in 4 years and I'm guessing we will find a bunch of junk to donate and get rid of. Talk about spring cleaning! This is perfect timing for a move.

For all family and friends reading, can you believe that next month we might have a couch for you to sit on or perhaps an actual table to have dinner at? Moving on up!
