Living room before and after!

Moving day!
That was some serious orange paint.
Our old ugly love seat and that orange paint again.
Setting the dining room up.
Time to paint!
Adios orange. Rod and Greg hard at work.
Ta da! Still a work in progress, but this is the dining room now.
Charleigh even got her own kitchen off the dining room.
Here is part of the living room. The wall decal came from Amazon and the canvas pictures from a Living Social deal.

The kitchen didn't need much work, just a few touches of our own.

Awkward

Before I start blogging about nonsense and silly things, I'd like to say my heart goes out to everyone in Boston. This situation is just tragic.

"Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on..." - Modest Mouse

Let's move on and keep it light today, shall we?
You know what is awkward? When you are driving down the road and you see a pot hole coming up. You've got plenty of time to avoid it and as you are approaching it, you go to swerve and... you hit it... dead on. HA! This happens to me every damn time. I blame inertia!

(At least I wasn't riding a bike?)
You know what else is awkward? When you go to introduce someome to someone else and even though you know their name, you draw a blank and create quite the sticky situation. Shout out! Hi Greg! Remember that? LOL.

Clean Eating Blueberry French Toast Casserole

Need a quick, healthy, AND delicious dinner idea? Why not make breakfast for dinner! I made the best french toast casserole. You'll need all the ingredients you see above (not pictured unsweetened almond milk) Take a loaf of organic whole wheat bread and cube it up in a pan.
 Add cinnamon and blueberries.
Pour 8 eggs whites, 1 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, and 1/4 cup organic maple syrup or honey over the bread and let it all soak up for about 15 minutes.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes and waa lah! My family went nuts for it!
And Charleigh was double fistting it! Ha! Bon appetite! Float on...

"Sunshine always follows the rain"

Hola pals. I'm glad you are here today. My heart feels heavy with the Boston tradegy. I woke up early this morning while my family was still sleeping. I crept downstairs and caught some of the latest news. It is sickening, but I am reminded of one of my favorite quotes: "Sunshine always follows the rain."

There is more good than bad in this wild world of ours. Let's remind ourselves of that today.
On a positve note, today is a special day. Growing up, my family had family dinners every night. At the end of the day we would gather around the table and talk about our days and have a good dinner (Thanks to Momma D) This is something Greg and I feel is extremely important. In our little apartment we had to move our dining room table into storage to make room for Charleigh. Now that we have an actual dinning room and the table is back, we are having our first family dinner tonight! I have no idea what I am making, but I am very excited to start such an important tradition with my little family.

Congratulations Kristy and Elliott!

I have to give a VERY excited shout out today to my best friend Kristy! After making me hold in a secret for way too long, she finally announced that her and her husband are going to have a baby!!!
She is already a wonderful auntie to my Charleigh.
Charleigh has been smitten with her since the start.
They are like BFFs.
Perhaps it's because Aunt Kristy feeds her ; )
Congrats Kristy and Elliott! Buckle up and enjoy the ride! We are thrilled for you all and love you. They are giving Greg and I the absolute pleasure of being the baby's honorary aunt and uncle!

House guests and mom guilt.

Good morning readers! Since the great blog fiasco of 2013 happened and Sunshinemeg vanished into thin air, I have no idea who is out there reading. Hi to all of you though. Happy weekend. My godparents and my mom made it in last night. This is our first time with guests actually spending the night at our house in....well.... years! It's freaking awesome. The tiny one bedroom apartment didn't take kindly to guests ; )
Speaking of house guests, remember this movie? I loved it. Don't act like you didn't.
Our day will start with Greg and I sneaking off to a gym that we are thinking of joining sans baby (Thanks to the double Grandma/1 grandpa brigade!) Anyone familiar with Fit! gym? Tell me about it? Especially the child care. We are then taking my godparents into the city for breakfast at our favorite place, Miss Shirley's! (Gramma, you've been there!) The inner harbor of Baltimore is beautiful at this time of year. Charleigh has gymnastics and then it's back to the house for some projects and relaxing! Should be an awesome day!
You know how when you're pregnant people like to give you lame advice or tell you what you should do? How come no one tells you about the pit in your stomach that you feel when you're child is sick? All this week Charleigh has had a runny nose, eyes, and cough. I stayed home with her Monday, but thought she improved. She's been eating good, sleeping good, and playing like her rowdy self. However, the symptoms have stuck around so Greg took her to the doctor yesterday and the poor kid has a double ear infection and sinus infection... You know how shitty that makes me feel? I took the day off with her on Monday and didn't even take her to the doctor. I figured it was a cold and that I should do Tylenol and snuggles. Damn. Dr. Mom failed. Big time.

Paula Dean says happy weekend!

As Paula Dean would say, hey y'all! Happy Friday to ya! This picture has made my entire day. Thank you, Google. My godparents and mom are on their way here as we speak! They are only staying until Sunday, so it's time to fit as much in as possible. YES!
Today is day 11 out of 24 for my Advocare Challenge. I made it through the 10-day cleanse phase! I've never done anything like this before, but I have to say that I've been really happy with this challenge. I feel like I have more energy. I am not as tired as I normally am. That right there is amazing. Since having Charleigh 14 months ago, I constantly feel pooped, but not lately. I'm down 4.5 pounds as of this morning. 4.5 pounds in 10 days... score! Greg said he could tell a difference. I can't yet, besides the energy part. I have a before picture, a day 3 picture, a day 10 picture, and I will take one at the end and put them up side by side. You can be the judge in 13 more days.

Big news in our house today! After about 5 years without a couch, we are getting a couch delivered!!! Our apartment was too small for one so we had a love seat for all that time. Somewhere along the way the love seat got a broken spring, so when you sat on it, you would tilt towards the center of the love seat. Not to mention it was an awful floral print and had a crappy couch cover that collected every ounce of cat fur it could. Basically... it was a hot mess. BUT! That all changes today! Finally! We get a big, comfy, sectional sofa that I can't wait to have!

It's the little things!
