Bloggers aren't fake, they are simply choosing how they want to write their story.

I recently read a friend's blog where some anonymous jerk had made a mean comment about the blogger being fake, saying they only wrote about good/positive things and that they were trying to "sugar coat" their life. It's not the first time I've seen something like this in the land of blogs. Some people like to accuse bloggers of not being real, like us bloggers only blog about rainbows and kittens and Dippin' Dots...

To those people, I'd like to say excussssseeee me! A blog is a personal thing where you can write whatever you damn well please.

I didn't know you wanted to come to blogland to read about the argument I had with my husband about whose turn it was to put a trash can liner in the trash can or who forgot to run the garbage disposal and made the house smell like straight caca... (It wasn't me y'all)

Did you want to know that I was completely frustrated last night because my child repeatedly threw every dinner offering I could come up with of her highchair and we settled on a handful of animal crackers for dinner (Megan for the win!)

How about I tell you that I freaking hate that Sarah McLachlan animal shelter commercial. Even an animal rights supporter has their limits.

Or that even though there are a million better words in the english language, I still like to say the f word. A lot.

Nobody wants to read that crap. I like talking about rainbows and kittens and (hell yes) Dippin' Dots! They are only the best creation ever. I blog to remember the good times, not the bad. Bloggers aren't fake, they are simply choosing how they want to write their story. So if I'm too suzy sunshine for ya, go be negative in your own space of the internet. End rant!

What type of card shopper are you?

Good morning pals. I'm sure you've all seen the news out of Oklahoma today. I actually had to turn it off this morning. I just couldn't take it. My heart goes out to the area/families/all people affected by the storms.

I'm going to keep it light around here today since the news is breaking our hearts. Random question: is it "affected" or "effected?"

You don't come here for my grammar skills. Obviously. Or my spelling skills. (I just googled how to spell "obviously.) Full disclosure here people!

Let's get on with it. If you know me in real life, you know I love sending cards/postcards. I frequent the card section at Target likes it's my job. Have you ever noticed there are certain types of card shoppers? I'll break it down -

*The "how fast can I get this stupid card and go?" card shopper. Dudes, I'm not trying to be sexist, but it's normally you. You can practically see the trail of dust behind you as you scoop up the 4 cards on the corner display without even setting foot in the actual card aisle, all while making a beeline for the checkout. *Can also be referred to as, speedy gonzalez. (I had to google the word "beeline")

The "lingering" card shopper. They are in the aisle f-o-r-e-v-e-r. You've done an entire monthly shopping throughout the whole store and they are still there... with an empty basket... reading the same card. Hey. Hey you! Yeah, you! They are called greeting cards! They say witty things, sometimes sentimental. Pick some out and get going. Don't you have a life to go live?

The "bigger is better" card shopper. Every card aisle has at least a few of those over-sized, jumbo greeting cards. I'm always amazed to see someone actually go over and consider getting one! Is that necessary? Really? The small greeting cards are already like $5 bucks! Who spends $15 on a greeting card!?

The "cell phone" card shopper. You can't possibly read a greeting card while talking on your cell phone. Give the cards some respect! You can see the lady who just picked up a hilarious Awkward Family Photo card and she isn't even laughing! Go have an argument on your cell phone somewhere else!

There you have it. Now you know I judge people in the card aisle.

Let's end the day with a public service announcement! Although I do love a good riddle more than the next person, tattoos are forever people. Mmkay?

Hello there readers. Thanks for stopping by today. Not only did I NOT win the Powerball this weekend, I didn't even get one number right. Not one. Fail. Next time there is talk of a $600 million dollar jackpot can someone just tell me to go buy myself an ice cream cone? That way I can only spend about $1 and still win. Ha!

 

Hope you all had a good weekend. Since it's Monday, I thought I would tell you about my weekend. Here it goes...

First off - I did a little shopping.

I spent some time with Greg.

Got in a couple of workouts.

Played with Tupelo.

Did some cleaning.

Tried a new recipe.

And got some new glasses.

I Wasted $4!

It's the Friday finish line y'all! Amen. I bought two Powerball tickets on my way to work today. $4 down the drain, but there is always that glimmer of hope. It's at $550 million and clilmbing. If you see me on the news next week for winning millions of dollars, no, you cannot have a loan. Paws off the cash!

So Greg had been using my phone this morning while I was at the gym. I later go to get on the internet on the phone and what pops up? The "Top Gifts for Your Husband - Gifts.com... your adoring husband who has stuck around through the good times and the bad... blah, blah, blah" LOL. He's a clever one, that boy.

Shout to Christine today for being an awesome reader and for sending me the nicest message yesterday. When my original blog was removed by Google, (for whatever reason) I was pretty devastated. Honestly, I still am. A lot of tears were shed (just ask Greg ; ) When I started this new blog, I wasn't sure how many folks would come over from Sunshinemeg. I assume it's mostly family and friends reading now, which is awesome. I love my peeps! Just wanted to say thanks for reading to you all and Christine, thanks for your kind words.
