I'm on my soap box today.

Charleigh's daycare is doing a canned food drive. It has been going on for a few weeks and will end tomorrow. That is a great thing, but you know what makes me upset? The people who clean out their pantry and throw in some Sardines and some random iced tea powder...

Really?

You mean to tell me that while you were sifting around all those cans of corn and green beans or boxed macaroni and cheese, you thought to yourself, "Oh sardines! Perfect!" Shame on you. Let's give you the benefit of the doubt that maybe you didn't have any canned goods at home... Well, than run out to the store in the next week or so and buy some. Duh! Most grocery stores have really cheap canned goods right now because of the season. The food drive goes on for weeks. Nobody wants to eat your nasty sardines. What if you were struggling to provide a meal for your family? What would you want to present to them to eat? Wouldn't you want them to have a nice meal?

Not iced tea powder...
Really?

Come on man! Don't even get me started on the damn iced tea powder. NOT COOL. This collection of canned goods are going to homes where people need food. They need a little help from their neighbors. There is no shame in that. The shame is on the person who gave the iced tea powder!

End rant.

Weekend visitors, Little Italy, and Laziness

Ha! Randomness at its best folks. Hi. Happy Friday. Greg's dad and Jean are coming today for a weekend visit! I know one granddaughter that is very excited! I'm sure she will have them playing Barbie in no time.
Greg surprised me yesterday as I was getting ready to leave work. He had arranged a babysitter and took me to my favorite place in (possibly) the world...Little Italy. Mmmm! I had some delicious pasta arrabiata. That's basically spicy sauce. Greg did fungus pasta. Ha! Mushrooms were involved... ew. It was a great evening and I had almost forgotten what it was like to eat at a restaurant and not get up every 10 minutes to "take a lap" with an ansy toddler. It's kind of funny because the last time Greg and I went to Little Italy just the two of us was 2 nights before Charleigh was born! We visited since then with out of towners, but not just the two of us. Good times.
This restaurant is big with the locals because it has an indoor bocce ball... court? Field? Turf? What does one call an area to play bocce ball? Did I even spell "bocce" right? I'm too lazy to Google or spell check today.

Does anyone out there still watch Parenthood on Thursday nights? It's getting good! I'm getting mad at Julia and Joel though. They are treading on some thin ice.

In 4 years...

This happened which led to...
This...
which turned into the most beautiful moment in my lifetime.
We survived the Baltimore Blizzard of 2010. We had about 48 inches of snow in 4 days!
(This is real ^)
I was reunited with my best childhood friend after losing touch for 10 years. We now talk every. single. day. (And I love her : )
Got to have our honeymoon.
I kicked ass in football!
We celebrated several of Greg's birthday by starting an annual birthday weekend beach trip and Charleigh got to see the ocean for the first time.
And second time!
We celebrated the wedding of my mom and Rod and the joining of two families!  Plus, we spent a lot of family time with our people!

We watched Charleigh interact with her cousins during several trips to Milwaukee.
We traveled all the way to Belgium with a 4-month-old.
To celebrate the wedding of these two.
We saw some sausages.
We celebrated  our 1st Christmas with a baby!
In matching pajamas.
Greg survived 4 knee surgeries since being married. Ugh. NO MORE!

We watched some of our most favorite people in the world become parents.

And are anxiously waiting the arrival of some very special babies...

There's been weddings, engagements, babies, adventures, traveling, parenthood, challenges, life, and lots of love . I love this boy ladies and gentlemen. I just love him.
