Checking in

Mother’s day was nice. I had some time at the gym. We went to a local park we’ve never been too and had a picnic.
We decided to walk on one of the trails and Charleigh had a huge meltdown. Ha! It was too close to her naptime and she was done. I was the mom carrying the toddler flaring her arms and arching her back down the trail.
Every mom that walked by just gave me that head nod like we’ve all been there! What can you do? After her nap she was back to her normal self. We made a mess in the kitchen with painting and we played outside all evening.

Charleigh's daycare has had "soccer Tuesdays" for the past 8 weeks. They practiced running and kicking the soccer ball. Yesterday was her last day of it and the kids were given trophies. Charleigh was so proud to show us. She even took it to bed with her last night.

Our air conditioning is broke at home. It’s been sticky hot here the past week, so it’s been uncomfortable at night. Poor Charleigh wakes up sweaty. We have a repair guy coming out today. He was supposed to come between 7-8am and at 8:30 he still weren’t here. Hopefully it’s fixed by this evening.

Greg’s dad and Jean are coming to visit us this upcoming weekend. It will be nice to see them and Charleigh can’t wait. The weather looks nice too!

Catching up

Hi there.

The wedding weekend in Ohio/Kentucky was fantastic. We saw all of our family and about 90% of our friends there. Steve and Chelsea had a beautiful ceremony and are now on a honeymoon in Antigua. Charleigh got spoiled by Mema and Grandpa and was so loved. Rod celebrated his 57th birthday by babysitting Charleigh so we could go to the wedding. What a guy! We had a cookout with family and watched the Red’s kick the Brewer’s butts! Ha! Where my mom and Rod live there is a bluff that overlooks the city and we got to watch the fireworks from the Red’s stadium once the game was over. More stories and pictures from last weekend to come!
We left Ohio on Sunday night about 6pm and got back to Baltimore at 3am. Talk about exhausted. We took Monday off from work and were trying not to be zombies all day. Caught up on laundry, played with Char, and cleaned/unpacked. Charleigh did great on both legs of the trip. She told us every time she needed to use the potty. There were no accidents. We had her in a Pull Up just in case.
Tomorrow night I am doing something fun with a company called Paint Nite here in Baltimore. I’m not sure if they are nationwide or just local. They are an organization that sets up a night of painting at local restaurants or bars for a fee. They teach you how to do a painting and it is like a painting class with drinks!  Greg surprised with 2 tickets to go to a nearby restaurant. I’m taking my girlfriend and having a girl’s night! I haven’t had a girls night in…. I can’t even remember the last time! Lol. Is that bad? ; ) Hopefully my artistic ability still extends beyond finger painting and gluing cheerios…

Today is the day

Today is the day! The excitement has set in. I somehow have to find a way to focus for the next 9 hours of work. I am packed. Charleigh is packed. Greg hasn't started.... Ha! That's true Greg fashion folks. He had to get a new suit for this wedding last week and that's been ready for pick up, but he has yet to pick it up... again, #truegregfashion I'm starting a new hastag trend with that one. He's planning to leave work a bit early to take care of these things so don't worry Gramma! I've picked up the essential road trip snacks - Chex Mix, granola bars, energy drinks for G, and mini mm&ms for sucessful potty attempts. Planning on hitting the road around 6ish. Charleigh goes to be between 7-8pm. She will drift off to sleep and we will cruise the night away! Hoping to get in by 2:30am. Woof. We haven't been back to Ohio/Kentucky since Thanksgiving and during that trip we didn't get to meet up with friends. I can't wait to see as many people as humanly possible in one weekend. I can't wait to see this little lady...
