Friday

Happy Friday all. Look at me on a blogging roll. We are gearing up for the big potty training weekend. We got our M&M rewards and our Batgirl underwear ready to go! Lol. Sigh. If 22-year-old Meg could see me now ; )

March Madness resumed last night with the start of the Sweet 16. Tennessee plays tonight, which is very exciting for a Tennessean. UC lost in the first round, so I’m clinging to my roots and cheering on my Vols. Kentucky also plays tonight and Rod is a HUGE fan. His whole family watches every single game. I wondering if I will be able to hear them all cheering out here in Maryland? Ha!

I have to share this internet video that has been floating around. Never in my life have I seen something so touching. I cried. This honestly moved me to tears. What a brave woman with wonderfully sweet friends surrounding her. Here is a link to the video. The page has an article about the women and the video is all the way down at the bottom. I don't know if I would have the guts to do the same for a friend. I like to think that I would.

Update!

I’ve missed my little space of the internet here. I haven’t had the urge to over share in a while, plus after blabbing on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, most of y’all know what I’m up to. But in case you don’t here is an update -

Greg and I have been working a lot. I still thoroughly love my job. It is a good feeling to know you are where you belong. Greg's been managing several projects and is completely sick of this long drawn out weekend like most of us, especially when he has to go outside in this weather. Did you know we got more snow on Tuesday?! I'm hoping that is the last time we see snow until next winter.

Charleigh is Charleigh, which means awesome. She loves to color with colored pencils. Loves movies about Mermaids.  Adores swim lessons on Saturday. Talks up a storm and calls everyone at daycare her “friends.” She likes to point to characters in her books and say they are people from daycare. She has her special friend Nico, who she also takes swim lessons and gymnastics with. His parents are very nice and we like going out to breakfast with them all after swim on Saturdays. Charleigh is like any 2-year-old and knows how to test us. She knows right from wrong and can be a pistol at times, but overall she is a sweet, loving little ball of energy.

We are attempting potty training this weekend. Eek! She has shown signs that she is ready, so we are going for it. We are using the 3-day-method. You can read about it here. Char does pick up on things quickly and we are hoping that holds true with this obstacle. She is 2 years and 2 months.

Here she is last night picking out her big girl "underwears." (as she calls them) She was very excited and went with the princess pack, of course, and surprised us with the female super hero pack. HA! She is our little Wonder Woman.

Heading to Cincinnati in May. Our college roommate Steve is getting married. Our whole college gang will reunite for one night of debauchery. Watch out Troy, Ohio ; ) Also we can't wait to see Gramma!

I interrupt this blog hiatus...

So yes, it's been awhile. I've been busy sucking at March Madness brackets and burning blueberry muffins for my kid while simultaneously forgetting to brush my teeth before I leave for work ; ) But I interrupt this blog hiatus to say one thing...
Have you ever noticed how there are all these wonderful sounding flavors of tea like "pomegranate superfruit" or "strawberry sleepy time dream," but then you get to a random flavor called "Earl Grey..." Pardon moi? Who the hell drinks tea that taste like earl or grey for that matter? Tea is the absolute worst. It taste like someone boiled water and threw some grass from their front yard in it. I remember getting sick as a child and my mom insisting on me drinking hot tea. I'd take a half of a sip and quietly vow to never again fall for her tricks. "But Meg, this will definitely make you feel better." Lies I tell you! Lies mom!

Also Ali, check out the brand name of that tea!
Lastly, the real reason for breaking my silence today is to say happy birthday to my butt head of a brother. He's actually not half bad, in fact, I kind of like him. Well, I'll tolerate him anyway. Happy 32nd Zach! Remember when you got stuck in that tree?
